"Even if it has not been your habit throughout your life so far, I recommend that you learn to think positively about your body" - Ina May Gaskin
I graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2012 with a bachelors in Theater and my focus in casting. I quickly realized that pursuing a career in casting, while it was exciting and fun, did not feed my soul in the way that I desired. With an extensive history in childcare and child development I began classes to become a Labor and Delivery Nurse. Again, that approach to this work did not satisfy my deep desire to connect and help families on a continuous and more personal level. in January of 2015, I did my training as a Birth and Postpartum Doula in Marin County with Doula Trainings International. Shortly there after, I left my full time nanny position to pursue this amazing work.
In March of 2016, I felt the need to expand on my postpartum practice and I began my certification with The Artemis School. This program is a full spectrum training on women's holistic sexual wellness. Not only did it expand the ways in which I can support the postpartum woman, it stirred up a deep desire in me to inform and educate women in all phases of their life; from sexual education to learning all of the ways a woman and her partner can either prevent or achieve pregnancy. I am deeply passionate about empowering women through education and deep connection to their bodies and their cycles.
This journey has led me to be a practitioner of women's health from the first menstruation through the postpartum period.
I am deeply connected to both the science and the spiritual and find that there is a place and importance in our lives for both. I educate through fact based information that I connect to the divine within every WOMBan. We live in a modern world with wonderful modern technology, however, there is great importance to also connect to nature and all of the gifts and wisdom she has to share with us.
