Childbirth is a transformative time; not only for the woman giving birth, but for her partner(s) as well.

We take time and care to prepare our homes and loved ones for the arrival of new life, however, too often we do not take the time to prepare ourselves and partner(s) physically, emotionally and informationally.  It takes a village and knowledge is power.  It does not matter whether you chose to birth at home, a birthing center or a hospital.  What DOES matter is gathering the information and support you need to feel prepared, connected and ready.

Childbirth is a time when body, soul, and science work as one to bring a new life to this Earth and bring a new sense of self to the woman laboring and delivering that life.

Whether you chose to birth without any pain medication, or you know that using the assistance of pain medicine is what you need to do to birth your baby with confidence and grace, it is of upmost importance that you receive evidence based information to guide you to make decisions that suite your needs and desires.

I draw on my knowledge and experience to provide emotional support, physical comfort, and informational support as needed and communication with the nursing and/or midwifery staff to make sure that you have the information you need to make informed decisions as they arise in labor. I can provide reassurance and perspective to you and your partner, make suggestions for labor progress, and help with relaxation, massage, positioning and other techniques for comfort. I am independent and self-employed. As your doula, I am working for you, not your caregiver or hospital.

Depending on which of the three packages you choose, we will meet twice or several times before labor to become acquainted, to explore and discuss your priorities and any fears or concerns you may have, and plan how we might best work together.
